Award-winning author Maggie Anton will join us to discuss her new book, "The Choice: A Novel of Love, Faith, and the Talmud". Drawing inspiration from the novels of Chaim Potok, Maggie's latest novel is a powerful love story with a purpose: to challenge Jewish customs concerning women, marriage, and equality. We look forward to welcoming her back to Etz Chayim.

Join Congregation Etz Chayim and Spark Church as we host a series of conversations where we look at various dimensions of structural injustice and how it relates to racism: in immigration, educational inequality, criminal justice, and economic inequity, after which we will think together about action we might take to challenge these systems. Since ancient times, Jewish communities have always supported a Chevra Kadisha, a corps of volunteers who lovingly care for the dead in preparation for burial. The Peninsula Masorati (traditional) Chevra Kadisha (PMCK) is getting ready to relaunch. Join the online information session to learn more about how to volunteer for this important community service. We will gather outdoors at noon for an oneg schmooze, then we will be together in small and large groups so that participants can make new friends and get to know each other more deeply. Our theme, "Where are YOU going?” is inspired by the stories of Noah and Abraham. Our time together will include fun and games, music, a simple dinner, and even Havdalah.
