Why does the first question of the Talmud begin with the word "When?" What would your first question be about Jewish prayer? What is the logic to how the prayers and blessings are formed and organized? Does it matter if we say prayers and blessings out loud or only in our head? And what's with the bowing and other choreography?
Having "Daily-paged" the 63 folio pages of volume B'rakhot (Blessings) in as many days, Rabbi Cartun will review a few unexpected ideas and trivia tidbits he noted down. No familiarity with Talmud or Hebrew is required, and all of your questions are welcome!

Join Eznik Mitch Slomiak on this long strange multimedia trip to learn Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) together through the words of The Grateful Dead. We will explore songs such as Ripple, Franklin’s Tower, The Music Never Stopped, Comes a Time (with One More Saturday Night as our “bonus track”) to shed light on passages and concepts from our scriptural heritage. While this is part 3 of a series, participation in the first 2 parts is NOT necessary to enjoy and learn together.
