Join Mitch on this long strange multimedia trip to learn Tanach together through the words of The Grateful Dead. We will explore songs such as “Ripple,” “Estimated Prophet,” “Brokedown Palace,” and “The Music Never Stopped". Mitch Slomiak has worked as a consulting Chief Financial Officer for small companies for the past 25 years after two full-time stints. His now part-time practice affords him time to focus on his labors of love. Mitch served on the Etz Chayim Board for six years, two of those as President, and currently is Lay Co-Chair for Fifth Friday Shabbat services. He fell in love with the music of The Grateful Dead during his freshman year at the University of Pennsylvania.

This is an ongoing, drop-in class that is open to everyone looking for a deeper, rational understanding of Torah.

A casual conversation with Rabbi Chaim and other Etzniks beginning with a short teaching followed by the sharing of highlights, challenges, or reflections from the week.

Kabbalat Shabbat Service with Rabbi Chaim Koritzinsky. Shabbat evening services are held every Friday at 7:30 p.m. and last about an hour. Everyone is welcome to attend the service.

This class is open to everyone looking for a deeper understanding of Torah. No Hebrew skills or Torah study experience are required.

Shabbat morning services are held every Saturday at 10:00 am, and with Torah reading, last about two hours. Everyone is welcome to attend the service.
