Opportunities for Peace (Beyt Knesset)
Monday, June 19, 2017 • 25 Sivan 5777
7:30 PM - 9:00 PMAs the policies of the current American administration unfold, what have we learned about its approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? What is a realistic and appropriate pro-peace agenda, given the situation on the ground and the current Israeli and Palestinian leadership? As Israel marks the 50th anniversary of its victory in the Six Day War, how has the country changed since then? Join Alan Elsner for a fascinating conversation addressing these questions and more.
Alan Elsner has had a long career at the top ranks of American and international journalism. As State Department and later White House correspondent for Reuters News Agency, Elsner traveled the world with Secretaries of State and was on first name terms with presidents and vice presidents. He is now the Special Advisor to the President at J Street.
The Etz Chayim community welcomes open, respectful dialogue regarding divergent positions about Israel and does not endorse any particular organization or position. This is an opportunity to learn about J Street's perspective on the U.S.-Israel relationship.
