One year and counting: Israel's difficult year and what lies ahead for us all (Library & Online)
Wednesday, December 4, 2024 • 3 Kislev 5785
7:15 PM - 8:30 PMMore than one year after the Hamas atrocities of October 7, 2023 perpetrated against Israel, the ensuing war in Gaza and Lebanon plus armed conflict with Iran and Yemen continue to weigh heavily on Israel especially and the greater Jewish community. There are still 101 hostages in Gaza. There are still questions about "the day after" and Israeli security. Regardless of personal viewpoint, we are all deeply affected. We can find community in getting together to be heard and share our ideas in a safe, polite space without judgment or debate. Kol Yisrael is hosting a moderated discussion on Wednesday, December 4 from 7:15-8:30pm in the library and on Zoom. We will begin promptly at 7:15pm with our simple ground rules for safe discussion. The moderator will ensure that anyone who wishes to speak has the opportunity and that we maintain a welcoming atmosphere. We will explore: How has the past year changed you? How have recent events changed your perspective? Knowing what you do, what do you expect for the coming year?
