Friday, March 17, 2023 24 Adar 5783

7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

As part of our ongoing series of speakers bringing varied perspectives on Israel and fostering open dialogue in our community, you are invited to attend a conversation with Dovie Maisel, VP of Operations at United Hatzalah after Kabbalat Shabbat services on Friday, March 17. Dovie's talk will be available to in-person and Zoom attendees - whether you attend services or not.

United Hatzalah is Israel’s first nationwide, fully volunteer EMS organization. Dovie will discuss “United Hatzalah and Compassion in Times of Disaster," the story of creating the fastest emergency medical response team in the world and bringing together compassionate professionals and volunteers from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds.

About Dovie Maisel:
In 2006, Maisel co-founded and serves as the VP of Operations of United Hatzalah, Israel’s first nationwide, fully volunteer EMS organization.
Dovie has revolutionized the EMS industry by dramatically shortening average emergency medical response times from 12-20 minutes to less than 3 minutes nationwide, and 90 seconds in major Israeli cities, creating the fastest emergency medical response team in the world. Dovie’s most profound impact is the development of United Hatzalah’s innovative Uber-like GPS emergency dispatch system and technology, which was patented in 2006 before the onset of the smartphone. Dovie continues to develop and adopt cutting edge technologies year by year.

Dovie oversees United Hatzalah’s volunteer network of doctors, medics, search and rescue experts, and psycho-trauma personnel, which has increased from just a couple hundred in 2006 to more than 6,500 volunteers today. He has managed critical response missions to mass casualty events such as war, terrorist attacks, and natural disasters around the globe. Lastly, Maisel is internationally recognized for his leadership in United Hatzalah’s international relief missions in Haiti, India, Nepal, the United States, and most recently a major medical and humanitarian effort in Ukraine.
