Jewish Meditation Drop-in Group
Monday, November 28, 2016 • 27 Cheshvan 5777
7:00 PM - 8:00 PMJewish Meditation Drop-in Group at Etz Chayim
Beginning November 7, a new Jewish Meditation Drop-in Group will meet almost* every Monday evening from 7:00pm- 8:00pm*. Bobbi Bornstein, a participant in our Contemplative Service, will facilitate the group.
Jewish Meditation (Hitbodedut) has the power to transform our lives. Each person is created in the image of the Infinite Divine and this image is always within us waiting to be rediscovered. The ultimate goal of meditation is liberation of the heart and mind. Meditation helps to relieve the stress of daily living and bring our lives back into balance.
Come meditate with us in a safe and relaxed atmosphere where no belief system, no experience in meditation, nor any knowledge of Hebrew is necessary. All you need is a willingness to open the heart and to be present. Both beginners and experienced meditators are welcome. Dress comfortably and if you have a meditation cushion or bench, feel free to bring it.
Facilitator Bobbi Bornstein, Morah L'Hitbodedut (Teacher of Jewish Meditation) is a graduate of Chochmat Halev’s Teacher Training Program. Over the past fifteen years, she has taught numerous classes and facilitated sitting groups in Jewish Meditation and Spirituality throughout the Bay Area. Bobbi is also a Reiki Master Teacher and Certified Hypnotherapist in private practice. Karen Gruebel is the coordinator of this program.
*the group will meet 7:00-7:45 the first Monday of the month when Etz holds a chanting session led by Lynn Alexander Levine and Laurie Fischer, 7:45-8:45.
