Etznik Talk: Wandering in the Book of Numbers, I Found My Voice with Naomi Burns (online only)

Wednesday, July 17, 2024 11 Tammuz 5784

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

In 1984 my father was welcomed by his kibbutz as a founding member. In 2024 I helped my father lead the seder in Amherst, Massachusetts. While preparing my portion, which is in the first chapter of Sefer Bamidbar, for the Women's Retreat, I realized I have an intimate relationship with this book. Bamidbar means in the desert. Come and hear more at my talk.

Bio: I was born in Israel, in Kibbutz Sasa, in the Upper Galilee. We left Israel when I was five. We returned to the United States. I went back to Israel, as a young adult to reclaim my roots. I earned a Certificate in Early Childhood Education from "Oranim," the School of Education of Haifa University. I left Israel in 1978. I returned to Amherst, MA, where I met my husband, Brian. We were both in Graduate School at the University.
I moved to Palo Alto, in 1993 as Brian got a job in Palo Alto. We became members of Etz Chayim in 2005. Click here to join on Zoom.
