7:30 PM - 9:00 PM

High Holy Days Workshop

For beginners and old-timers alike.  Four Monday night sessions, 7:30-9PM:

Teshuva (Return).  July 22, with Rabbi Goldhaber-Gordon

Teshuvah means returning or repentance.  But what is teshuvah, really?  What does our religion expect of us, and what do we expect of ourselves?

Yom HaDin (Day of Judgement).  July 29, with Rabbi G-G

Rosh Hashanah has several names.  One of them is Yom HaDin, which means The Day of Judgement.  What does it mean to stand on trial before God?

Yom Kippur.  August 5, with Rabbi G-G

Yom Kippur means literally Day of Atonement.  But what is atonement, and what are the spiritual or emotional implications of all the confessions recited throughout the day?

Songs and Prayers. August 12, with Rabbi Cartun and Karen Kenan

This session will be a musical workshop to learn or practice some of the major liturgy of the holidays.
