Over the next 18 months, California cities are working on their "Housing Element Plans" to plan for future housing growth. Palo Alto must plan for 6,086 additional housing units. Come learn with Sheryl Klein more about ideas and strategies that can be used to accommodate this growth. We will also explore the term "affordable housing" and what it really means: How it is built (who pays for it?) and how it most often provides people with a lot more than a roof over their head. Sheryl works for Alta Housing, a community based non-profit that builds and manages affordable housing in Silicon Valley and is on the Palo Alto City's Housing Element Committee. She will share some ideas and strategies that can be used to accommodate this growth.
