ETZ Talk: Teaching Our Children About the Holocaust
Sunday, January 8, 2017 • 10 Tevet 5777
10:00 AM - 12:00 PMHow do you talk to your children about an event, so horrific, that most adults can't comprehend it? Where do we start? At what age? What should we tell them? What is age-appropriate?
The Holocaust is, perhaps, the most difficult thing to teach and talk about in our Jewish history. Long-time, local educator Ilona Shechter will guide us through an exploration of how to approach this fraught history with our children.
Ilona Shechter
Teacher, Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School and Teacher Fellow, United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
