Cedars of Lebanon Torah Field Trip (Pioneer Park)
Saturday, April 22, 2023 • 1 Iyyar 5783
3:00 PM - 4:00 PMCedars of Lebanon appear throughout the T”anach as symbols of strength and beauty in nature and in human character. We love to sing from the psalm, “k’erez balvanon yisgeh”, how a righteous person grows like a cedar of Lebanon. This tree isn’t commonly seen where we live, but there are grand specimens in Pioneer Park, in Mountain View. We’ll meet on Shabbat afternoon to touch the trunks, smell the needles, and learn about how the trees are described in scripture. Class leader is Aaron Schuman. Bring something to sit upon. Since we’re out in a public park, you’re free to bring playful children and leashed dogs. Park at the Mountain View Public Library, 585 Franklin St., or at the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce, 580 Castro St. For both lots, the nearest cross street is Church.
